What does CUE++ do?
CUE++ builds custom software and runs technical production for live events. We develop bespoke tools and integrations, and we operate shows: stage design, lighting and show control, timecode, lasers, and custom protocol work. We also ship our own products.
What does CUE++ stand for?
A cue is the fundamental trigger in live performance: the moment a look, track, or effect fires. Cues run lighting (on consoles like grandMA3), sound, DJ sets, and theatre alike. The "++" comes from C++, the software side we build for those same industries. So CUE++ is where live performance meets programming, our love of technology and live experiences combined.
What are your values?
Technology should power performance, not slow it down or limit it. We think the latest tools open up things that were hard to build before, and our job is to make building them more feasible. Experimentation runs through everything we do: we try ideas, iterate, and combine them into interesting, fun stuff, then push the best of it toward a product or keep it as a learning bed for what comes next.
What software does CUE++ build?
Software for the live-events and production-tech world. We build event-centric software: stage and show-design tools, lighting and show control, timecode and AV, 3D apps and real-time show visuals, and integrations (OSC/MIDI/DMX) that make show systems talk to each other. We also apply AI to live events, from audio-reactive visuals to searching across show data. Alongside client work we ship our own products: VENU.studio and grandMA3 plugins.
Can you operate live shows?
Yes. We program and operate live shows for concerts, festivals, corporate events, and touring productions, covering lighting (run to timecode or busked live), show control, and lasers.
Can you design and build a show for a band or artist?
Yes. We build shows end to end: stage and lighting design, previsualisation, programming, and live operation, all shaped around the act's set, creative direction, budget, and touring needs.
Do you offer production services?
Yes. We provide end-to-end technical production for events and concerts: technical direction, crew, equipment, show calling, and on-site delivery, plus independent equipment consultancy when you're speccing a system.
Do you do timecode?
Yes, timecode is central to what we do. We program and run SMPTE, MTC, and LTC timecode and cue systems so lighting, audio, video, and lasers stay frame-accurate and in sync across the whole show.
Can you do previsualisation?
Yes. We previsualise in 3D in our studio, pre-programming lighting and stage looks before you're in the room, which saves time and budget on site.
Do you have a studio?
Yes. We have a 200 m² black-box studio for previsualisation, programming, rehearsals, and content work. Get in touch to book it or to talk through your project.
Do you have your own equipment?
Yes, we own a working inventory of lighting, control, and production gear. Tell us about your show and we'll confirm what we can cover in-house. Contact us for specifics.
Can you cover shows that need equipment you don't own?
Yes. When a production needs kit beyond our own inventory, we source it through our network of trusted dry-hire suppliers, so you get the right equipment without managing multiple vendors.
Can you film or produce for TV and podcasts?
Yes. We offer filming and technical services for TV and podcast productions, from studio capture to show systems. Send us your brief and we'll scope it.
What tools and technologies do you work with?
On the show side: grandMA3, Resolume, MadMapper, and MadLaser, plus Ableton Live and TouchOSC, and the live-event protocols DMX/Art-Net, sACN, OSC, and MIDI. On the software side we build in Rust, Python, and TypeScript (React, Next.js, Node), with Postgres and ClickHouse for data and Three.js/WebGPU for real-time 3D.
What markets do you work in?
We're based in Romania and currently work with clients both locally and in the UK. For software and remote projects we work more widely, so get in touch.
